I am trying to create a mirrored array using two identical hard drives, with the Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 operating system on it. I have successfully installed the O/S, main board and RAID drivers on one of the 80 GB IBM hard drives connected to IDE2 so as to use the main board’s primary disk controller, as stated in the manual. Now I move this drive over to IDE 3 and connect the identical blank drive to IDE 4.Now I boot the computer and enter the fastrack setup. Both the drives are recognised and showing up as functional, when I press ‘1’ to enter set up I’m presented with a flashing box saying ‘NO AVAILABLE DISKS! Any key to continue’.When the computer has started and I open the fastcheck utility both the drives are showing up and functional but the mode is striping, they also show up in the device manager. I just can’t get the security mirrored array I want. The jumpers on both drives are set to master, I don’t know if this is correct. The first splash screen to come up shows ‘MB fastrack 133 lite Bios version 2.00.0.20.Hope somebody can tell me where I’m going wrong. Thanks Nick.

It sounds like both drives are already part of an array that is stripped volume.

You will have to break this array and then start again with the install. you went about it in the correct way though.

Install os on STD IDE
install RAID drivers
Move dives over
Created mirrored array.
