Hi. I want to make something like a RAID with these 3 HDs in a way that the 1.5TB and the 500GB will merge into one 2TB volume, and then I want to use the 2TB HD as a mirror for the other 2TB volume.

In other words, I want to use one 2TB drive as a mirror for a extended volume I made with the other 2 drives.

The problem is, when I try to do that, I get a error message on windows disk manager saying the volume I´m trying to mirror is made of several drives.

I´m using a EP-8NPA7I MB with 2GB of RAM, and a 250GB HD for the system.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Since raid uses the smallest drive to create the array with, raid0'ing a 1.ttb and 0.5tb drive would get you a 1tb (0.5 + 0.5) array. So while what you want to do is possible, its not practical nor recommended.

If your raid controller supports JBoD mode then you can catenate the 1.5t and 0.5 to get a 2.0t. From there you can use windows to mirror that to the remaining 2tb hdd.
