I have an 8-bay RAID and one of the drives has failed. I used the dd command to clone the contents of the bad drive to a new one, however this isn't recognised by the RAID (Promise Pegasus2). According to Promise it won't work because the DDF information on the drive also needs to be transferred. How can I do this?

Solution
How do you copy a bad drive? As I understand it, you can't copy a bad drive. And because you said AID0, part of every file is on the bad drive. How do you recover from a failed AID0 array? You pull the bad drive/replace it and format/install. There is a reason why people don't use AID0 arrays anymore. I suggest you stop using it as well.
