Ok, so its 09/18/2017, a majority of reviews ive found were from 2 years ago, 3 years ago, up to almost 10 years ago.

My question is this, can anyone give me an unbaised review of raidmax psu's nowadays? I'm trying to determin if i should return the PSU i bought from newegg or not. I work in the tech business and i keep leaning toward the tendancy that the customers that give bad reviews most likely have done something stupid, happens with every electronic device. Customer does something stupid then they blame the company.

But this is what i want, i want someone to give me an unbiased review of raidmax psu's as of recent in 2017/2016. Have they been catching fire and blowing up? Or has that trend seems to have stopped.

I purchased this psu Raidmax RX-1000GH Vampire 1000W 80 PLUS Gold ATX12V v2.3 & EPS12V Power Supply. I cant seem to find many bad reviews of this psu, the good reviews i dont trust too much because companies pay for good reviews, we all know this. I dont trust the super bad reviews becuase people are stupid and break their own stuff and blame the company. So someone help me out.

The Raidmax Vampire 1000w was first released in 2014. So what you'll find is any reviews on that model are going to be from late 2014 to early 2015. You really won't get anything newer until a new model is released. To bring up Apple, it would be similar to someone writing a review of an iPhone 4S now, when really nobody is interested, now, as any worthwhile reviews are already written.
You really aren't going to find any reputable good reviews.

1,000W PSU for $119 should tell you all you need to know. Something for nothing NEVER happens when it comes to computer parts.

GOOD 1,000W psu's start at about $170, PSU's worth buying anyway.. 😉

I would send it back and get a good PSU.

No it doesnt tell me everything i need to know. If it did then, I wouldn't be here asking. What it shows me is a 1000w PSU for 119, thats a good freakin deal to me. So no, it doesnt tell me everything i need to know.

Edit: Not to mention it seems like the electronic market for anything nowadays is a crackshoot to see if you get something that wont break in the first 2 weeks.

Same could be said for apple, yet look how successful they are. They have a 1 year hardware warranty for an 800 dollar phone.

There aren't any real deals when it comes to parts, you ALWAYS give something up, that's ALWAYS.

You get what you pay for.

People stopped doing real reviews of Raidmax PSUs because they went back time-and-time again to the same old low-end, cost-cutting Andyson and hec platforms with the same junky capacitors. If you started to see platforms from them from Super Flower or SeaSonic or even Enhance or CWT, you'll start to see reviews again. Maybe this newer one is better, but power supplies are guilty until proven innocent; no review is the same thing as a bad review.

There is one tested Raidmax that was very good, the Titanium-certified one. But that's not enough to start greenlighting untested Raidmax PSUs.

Different product, different market. That's about the warranty for most phones, while a 2-year-warranty is shockingly short for a legitimate PSU in 2017. PSUs are simpler in design, but they are *safety* parts, so longer warranties are more, well, warranted.

So im sensing old hostility, and not NEW hostility. Please give me some actual reviews from this year or at least last year. You all dont even know if they got better because no one ever bothered to try the others. Reputation is hard to build, but even harder to build it back up if it started out bad. Someone please, test a new raidmax psu and let me know how it goes.

Again, power supplies are guilty until proven innocent. But you've already decided this is what you're going to get, so why are you even asking the question? It's your game of roulette, not mine, so enjoy, and good luck to you.

Reviews from this year or last year don't matter it has not changed the way they are made. They don't start a model number and 2 years later make the same model number better they change the model number when they make changes to the power supply.
If you would do some actual reading and research for yourself to under stand the parts they use on the review I offered you might figure out for your self what to look for. Instead of just coming here and saying prove this is good or bad.

From the parts used it's actually one of their better models.

I thought you said it was a deal.... 😉

It's really like playing Russian Roulette with your PC parts.

Could saving $50 or $60 cost you a lot more in parts replacement?

If you really need a 1,000w PSU that means you likely spent some money on the parts you already have so why cheap out on the most important part of the computer?

Oh that's right, it was a good freaking deal.... LOL

That said you already know what most of us think about it, I really doubt anyone here would actually use it in their systems.

I know I wouldn't have that thing anywhere near my system.

But in the end it's your choice.

Firstly, the Vampire 1000W is not that bad, it's actually a decent PSU. Secondly, for reviews, you better not be looking at consumer reviews. Never look at consumer reviews of power supplies. Reviewing a power supply is not something an average Joe can do. You need tons of expensive equipment and a heavy background in computer knowledge.

Finding a real review is not rocket science. Just Google "Raidmax Vampire 1000W review" and the very first result is an actual review! https://www.nikktech.com/main/articles/pc-hardware/power-supplies/5402-raidmax-vampire-rx-1000gh-1000w-power-supply-unit-review - and you're never going to find recent reviews of older units, there's no point for reviewers to review old units.

The real question is whether you needed a 1000W power supply in the first place. I have no idea what your business does, but it's highly probably you don't need a 1000W power supply (just guessing).

Warranties don't necessarily say how long a product is going to last. Ultra power supplies ha d lifetime warranty. Good luck getting that filed when the company went out of business.

Ok this was the kind of response i was looking for, not exactly a review, but a well thought out response, so first off thank you!

Secondly, im not looking for a peer reviewed paper on the product. More so current experiences people have had with the company's products and with the company in general that is more up to date. Not experiences from the past, i hate to bring up apple again but they are a great example of what i mean. Back in the day when i was in middle school, apple was almost bankrupt and didnt have a good reputation in comparison to microsoft, and now look at them.Super huge and successful. See what i mean by i want more up to date overall review of them and their products? I couldnt find any so the only ones i found which are from like 5 6+ years ago are about as good as chucking a rock at a wall, doesnt do me any good,

Know what im looking for now?

The company is irrelevant except when it comes to its warranties and how well it manages problems. The only thing that's important is the particular power supply itself. Most Raidmax units are junk but there are a few good ones here and there.
