Quick question - I'm fairly new to upgrading PC's, but I'm wondering if the Raidmax RX-600F is sufficient to power the MSI GTX 970 Gaming video card? I believe it has more than enough wattage, but I'm not sure if it has enough amps. I also understand that the Raidmax is probably not the best PSU, but it's all I have at the moment until I can upgrade that part.

Thanks!

No it isn't - Raidmax is not a brand that's typically assocaited with quality. Go for an EVGA G2 or P2 if you're going to be using a GTX 970. Seasonic X series is also another highly recommended choice. But avoid Raidmax like the plague.

Thank you. As a follow up, I installed the Raidmax and GTX which seemed to work fine, but then crashed about 5 minutes into Skyrim. I assume once the card was taxed it drew more amps than the PSU could supply and gave out.

What are your thoughts on this PSU? The P2 and G2 are a little out of my price range right now and I'd prefer to stay under $100 if possible.

Exactly proves my point, Raidmax, Apevia, Xion, and Xclio are brands that I would never advise anyone to purchase, as they typically produce a lot of junk products. That XFX unit should be a good choice as it is manufactured by Seasonic. Another good choice under $100 would be this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151118

Or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438028

Both of the above units got a 9 / 10 or higher rating from Jonnyguru. The EVGA units are extremely high quality, both of my rigs have them.

The XFX is a good choice for a sys with one gtx 970.
