I agree, don't go with Raidmax, not the best choice to skimp on the power supply. Anyways here are two other power supplies that are also worth every penny:

Get the Silent Pro if you are using that much wattage (around 600) or are expecting a future upgrade with a video card or something along the lines of that....

Just going to pop in here. 3 years ago i upgraded to a 5670, which was apparently too much for the stock psu in the prebuilt compaq I have. I put a cheap raidmax in, not caring about brands. It is unbelievably still going. I wouldnt do it again, but im just saying sometimes they surprise you.

^ you do raise a valid point. Most people say to refrain from using Biostar motherboards but I have a Biostar T-6100 939 that is nearly 7 years old and it still is working to this day. Now, like any brand (let it be Asus/ Biostar for motherboards or Raidmax/Antec) there are always defective products and failures. The trend though is those lower end brands have higher failure rates and are more prone to being defective due to the lack of quality. That being said we can both assume we were lucky in obtaining a "lucky" power supply (your case) or motherboard (my case).

EDIT: HOLY CRAP!!!!!! 29.99 for that seasonic made unit rebadged by Antec!? That is quite the steal!!! Hopefully the OP lives in America and pops in this thread within the hour to make that order....

yea I know! I found it earlier, and immediately bought it for my new build. Even if you dont bother getting your visa rebate, $50 is still a great deal.

Glad i could help. Many of antec's psus are made by seasonic. I try to stay with Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, or NZXT. You can usually find deals like that one if you watch carefully. Buy it up quick as the promotion ends tonight.

You are most welcome friend :)
It's the least I can do since you brought up this amazing deal! Too bad its 66.99 on the Canadian part of Newegg. We don't get much of a deal as you American get... :(

In fact, last week MX-4 was available for you guys for 14.99 with free shipping and a mail in rebate of $14.99 so basically, you guys got free thermal paste

Love it when that happens.... :D

Sidenote: look how excited you were when you posted on those threads. You called it out as a videocard. :p

Crud
Mind if you link the thread? Need to go edit that post then....too much coffee and excitement does that to you while working overnight on school homework that should have not been an issue if it weren't for teachers cramming me with so much stuff before I leave for my winter break...

Hahahah kinda, we do get the occasional stunning shell shocker deal but none of it really satisfied my needs (or most people). The other day they were selling $1000 dollar pot set for $200, though not sure what I'd do with those pots....maybe put computer parts in them?

Finals are over for me. Time to finish buying the parts for my build and settle back into 50 hour workweeks for a bit.
