RAM - 2 slightly different sticks

I had 6gm of RAM (2gb and 4gb) in my laptop. Wanted to upgrade to 8gb so I bought an additional 4gb online. When I got it I found that it is the same type as the others (M471B5773DH0-CH9) but they were made in two different locations. Original made in China and the new one made in Philippines. They look almost identical, but the green color of the boards are different. Will this make a difference in performance or should i get two made from the same place? thanks

it should be fine, just make sure you use the 4GB dim in your laptop.

dumb question..but how do i do this? its showing up as 8gb total on My Computer but i didnt do anything after installing.

It's always recommended that you use RAM from the same set, otherwise problems may arise in the future. However, I've seen people go against this an be fine, but do so at your own risk.
