I have a mercury mobo which doesn't have a model number on it... I planning to upgrade my system from 2GB to 4Gb... My question is , My mobo has two slots named DDR2 A0 & DDR2 B0... That means my mobo will support 4Gb of RAM? Thanks in advance!

Solution
I would suggest you buy 2x2GB DDR2-533 (2 sticks of 2GB each).
Remove the existing RAM and replace it with the new memory in the existing slots.
This avoids compatibility problems between different RAM modules.

But I have already ordered a transcend 2GB DDR2 RAM which is running @ 800MHz... My friend told me that, 800MHz will get lowered to 533 MHz in order to work in tandem with my another chip...! So, what do I do? I can't cancel the order. My current RAM is "DYNET DDR2 800(5) 2GX16".

DDR2-800 will work if supported by your motherboard.
May or may not work with your existing RAM.
If you have already ordered it, you may as well try it.
If they don't work together initially, try old and new separately.

My MoBo model is mercury DG965T. So, it will support?
