Question Cpu Bottleneck

Hello . so my game performance recently is not what was I expecting especially after upgrading from GTX 1050 TO RTX 2060 I doubt that my I5-7400 CPU and my 8gb of ram are causing some bottlenecks . is it true and how can I be sure?

For example on Ghost recon i get 50 fps on meduim settings thats so bad for an rtx 2060

Which ghost recon? The one from 2001-2002? There is something really wrong on your PC, if you have problems with that game.

no I mean wildlands the one that came out in 2017 . also on gta v I have problems . as I saw on vids on youtube . on an rtx 2060 these games should run +90 fps on very high settings

Make sure your PC is already:

• free from unnecessary background running programs.
• free from viruses/malwares/etc.
• all drivers are up to date.
• energy settings both for cpu and gpu is already on performance mode.
• both cpu and gpu are not throttled due to heat.

Consider having:

• another 1x8GB to have 16GB RAM running on dual channel mode.
• an SSD, if you do not have any. SSD for open-world games (faster data stream) helps too on the fps stability.
• try finding a secondhanded I7 7xxx compatible for your mainboard from ebay. I would try this as last option if those points above did not help you at all.

GTA V is quite processor intensive and gains benefit on having faster RAMs including dual channel setup.
I dunno about Ghost Recon Wildlands but it should be similar to GTA V I guess.
Those games should still run pretty well without big upgrades to I7 8xxx or Ryzen

hi. so my cpu usage in games is always 100% . I have an i5 7400 . I know it is old but my question is . can the ram affect the cpu usage.? for example if I upgrade from 8gb ram to 2x8=16 gb of ram . can it decrease the cpu usage>

Almost all games but the ones I face major problems with are : GTA 5,Tom Clancy ghost recon wildlands, Fortnite . what surprised me the most is that forza horizon 4 ( which is more demanding than all of the above) runs perfectly on 60 fps ultra settings.
Specs: Mobo: Asus prime b250m-a
CPU: intel i5 7400 3.00ghz base frequency
RAM: 1 stick of 8gb 2133 Mhz
GPU: Gigabyte windforce RTX 2060 6GB OC Edition
PSU: 750W (Iam unsure of the model)
60 hz monitor.
