Ram and motherboard compatibility

The Asus strip b350 mobo only supports 2933 and 3200mhz for ram, the ram i want to get is 3000mhz, will it downclock?

You should set the Ram speed to not more than 2933 Mhz. Ryzen cpu's cause instability with RAM speeds higher than 2933 Mhz. You can purchase the 3000 mhz DDR4 RAM as it is compatible with the mobo chipset. But do go ahead and check the list of compatible RAM's listed by Asus on their website
