So I've been looking at building a new PC, It'll be my 2nd PC I'll be building.

Obviously this time around I've learnt from my mistakes and will be doing some more research as to making the right choice prior to buying.

Which leads me to a few questions.

I've already got some Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM, 2133, 8x2GB, with a 1.65V

I'll be looking at buying more of the same RAM so I'll have 8x4 by the end of it.

My question is in Regards to Motherboards that I've been looking at.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131801

Is the first motherboard, which doesn't support my 2133 DDR3, as it only supports 1866 and 1600.

Will my 2133 clock speed be lowered down to the next available? Which would be 1866?
If so, would I have to overclock to get the maximum clocking speeds?

The second motherboard is

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128562

This is another issue as it conflicts with the voltage. As it supports 1.5 + 5% which is like 1.575v

Now it does support the clockspeed which is a plus, however, what will happen with the ram here? Will it overheat or what?

I have some knowledge of building PC's and I don't want to make the wrong decision in buying my MOBO.

In building my new PC, It's going to be a grey/black/white theme, so I'm looking for a MOBO that does

Any help would be lovely, thanks!

1.5V is for the standard default speed like the lga2011 that is 1600mhz, if you wnat to run faster, then you need up the voltage let the RAM run stable. For the 1st MB they said up to 1866mhz, then it may or may not run the RAM in 2133mhz. For the 2nd one you can OC the RAM to 2133MHZ ( the voltage will be more than 1.5v, it will be ~1.6V or more) and you can go to the BIOS in the memory section to set up the XMP profile. That is much easy to oc the RAM. Check your manual.

So if I were to purchase either of the two, the second one would be a better choice because I can OC the ram?

I was having a look at this one as well yesterday and the days before that as well, it has everything I need. I suppose my current choices of MOBO's have been pretty poor. I'll check the ASUS x79 and get back soon~! Says the Ram requirements: DDR3 2800(OC)/2600(OC) << Would I need to BE OCING?

You do not have to overclock. You will just have to set the DRAM speed manually in the bios.

First, the Asus Sabertooth X79 can easily handle 2133 sticks, support for it is in the BIOS and XMP (I've had 32GB of 2133 on a few Sabertooths, but given the option I'd go with their X79 Deluxe, it's one of the new X79s they recently brought out the other is the Black Rampage. And for info purposes, it will depend on your CPU as far as a OC of the CPU goes, the strong ones can carry 2133 with no OC, some will require a slight CPU OC - about 4GHz

Hey there thanks for the info, I have been looking into the rampage black and I'm considering it as my choice now. my CPU is Intel Core i7-4820K 3.7GHz. Will this be adequate for livestreaming or will I need a hex-core?
