RAM and Windows 8.1

Hello. I have recently switched my PC to windows 8.1 from windows 7. and i am experiencing extreme PC lag issues in games (especially in H1Z1). My pc has 4GB RAM. so my question is, does windows 8.1 consume more RAM or something? because i was running those games fine on windows 7. thank you

Did you do a clean install or upgrade?

As far as I could tell 8.1 actually used a bit less than 7 normally.

ladies and gentlemen, i reinstalled windows 7 and every issue was fixed. thank you for your assistance and have a flawless PC
