Why is it the manufacturer never really talk about what kind a chip does the ram has. Instead, they mainly talked about how great the cooler is... I feel like' I'm paying so much because of the cooler... Does it not matter what kind a chip the ram has, as long it has a low latency and can perform the advertised speed???

^Agreed. I have noticed this too, but I think Corsair/Kingston tells if their High End RAM if it has the legendary Micron chips.
