RAM Clocking

Hello All,
So I was playing around with my PC today and noticed my RAM is only running at 802.xMhz. I checked the BIOS and I do have it set for 1600. Here are my specs.

ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME (REV 3.0)
I7 - 2600K
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 80 PLUS SILVER Certified

So the BIOS looks good but CPU-Z says the following:
DRAM Frequency: 802.6 - 802.7 Mhz
FSB😀RAM 1:6
Latence: 7.0
Delay: 8
RAS Recharge: 7
Cycle Time: 24

Any help is appreciated.

Your fine 1600 will read as 800Mhz in CPU-Z its just how ram works 😛.

DDR RAM is Double Data Rate RAM meaning there are two reads or writes per cycle. Thus with an actual RAM frequency of 800 MHz. x 2 you get an effective 1600 MHz. operating frequency.

Your system is fine.

Gotcha. Thanks guys. I didn't realize CUP-Z read it per channel.

It's data per cycle not per channel, but yeah you have the idea now.
