RAM compatability issue?

I'm wondering if 4 Sticks of OCZ Gold AMD 1600 ddr3 ram (8 gigs) will work in the MSI 790FX GD70 mobo with an AMD IIx4
955 BE.

I thought it would but every now and then i hear some people reporting problems with it.

I heard some people saying 8 gigs would actually slow the computer down, but i didnt understand why. I also hear 4 sticks of dual chnnel and AMD dont work very well together, but again i dont see why not.

And it wouldnt be an OS problem i have 64 bit vista.

4 sticks of dual channel will work no problem with that.
Also u may see many may have problems with their rigs but there are many satisfied customers too,google for some reviews
