Hi everyone

I was wondering if DDR3 2400 Mhz ram sticks were compatible with my motherboard?https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/Z97P/specifications/
I did look at the specification and I did see the value of '2400' but i'm not sure what the 'OC' means. Is it overclock? No idea so i'm just making sure

Also what else should I be looking for when looking for compatible ram? Is it just if it's DDR3/DDR4 and if the motherboard supports the speeds? Nothing else?

If you really want to do the best job you can to make sure it will work, get memory that's on the memory QVL list.

Other than that, you need to match the DDR of the MB...and the MB needs to support the speed AND the MB needs to support the configuration.

I think 2400 will probably work in that MB...but I think you will have to try it to make sure.

It will probably run at 1600 as that's the max for that board without OCing.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by the configuration? Is it how many ram sticks I can use? I was thinking of using 2x8

So this would be compatible?
