I am upgrading my PC, I am looking to change out my i5-7600 for a i7-7700k and go from 16GB (HyperX Fury 2133 mhz) to 32 GB, the ram I have selected is 2666 mhz and neither the CPU or Motherboard say that speed is compatible, only these:

  • DDR4-2133
  • DDR4-2400
  • DDR4-2800
  • DDR4-2933
  • DDR4-3200
  • DDR4-3600
  • DDR4-3733

Will the RAM I have selected work?

Unless you can get a good deal on a 7700K, like 100usd or less it isn't worth upgrading.

New Intels and Ryzens especially offer more performance for much less so it may be worth it to just save up and buy a new mobo and cpu. 4 core 8 thread CPU are getting dated, even the new i5s and Ryzen 3600 out perform the 7700k in alot of games and tasks

And as far as RAM yes it should work but I would advise buy 3200mhz or great RAM since the cost difference is so small these days.

If you are really concerned check the mobo manufacturers website for the QVL list of compatible RAM.

Well I literally just bought this motherboard like 2 weeks ago which is the issue. I know it isn't "ideal" but I only play a select few games and the only new game I'm looking forward to is Halo: MCC. I just looked at the prices for 3200mhz RAM and it is only like $10 cheaper, I'll go with that.
