RAM compatibility question

I bought this from Frys Monday; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220693 plus a new video card (7850). So I installed both while taking out my old stuff, turn it on.....no video and it seems to not be booting up, do some troubleshooting and it turns out the RAM is causing the issue. I leave a 4 GB stick in and try to boot it up with no success and reinstalled my old 2x 2GB sticks it boots up fine.

So the RAM isn't compatible with my motherboard? I thought my motherboard (because it SHOULD be within specs) would be able to handle it but I guess not, maybe the voltage is too much I suppose. Is there a way to make it work or should I just go ahead and get a new/better mobo? Here is my old RAM just to compare, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193 and my motherboard; http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/asus_m4a88tdv_evo_usb3/6.htm.

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit by the way.

Your pics never appeared (oops - couldn't find it - Google Chrome).

The safest way to order RAM is via the Crucial website because they have a "System Scanner" which can tell you what type of RAM your system supports, how much RAM each slot supports, and what compatible RAM they have in stock. Plus, full refund if it doesn't work: http://www.crucial.com

The question isn't whether or not you need a new Motherboard, but whether or not your ram is any good to begin with. Sounds like your ram was dead on arrival. I would RMA it TODAY. I can't tell if it is compatible or not. You didn't list your specs AND your links are broken.

Sorry about that, it seemed to have worked before but oh well here is the new links: new ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220693; old ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193 and mobo http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/asus_m4a88tdv_evo_usb3/6.htm

But there isn't much to list other than my processor is a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, 64GB Kingston SSDNow V series, 700W OCZ ModXStream Pro power supply and Windows 7 64-bit. I think I do see the issue though with my new ram being a PC3 15000 compared to my old ram being a PC3 12800. I didn't look at that when I was buying this ram but this entire rig I built is over 2 years old so it's time to start upgrading things and this just gives me a reason to upgrade my mobo and possibly a bigger SSD.

Its kinda strange if all 4 sticks would be DOA wouldn't you? I'll try it once more before making my decision on a RMA or new mobo. I'm going to send a message to ASUS to see what they say about this RAM compatibility.
