Hey there,

I have a GIGABYTE 945GCM-S2L Mother board (Socket 775 LGA) will a 800 MHz RAM work on it ?? if no then i should buy a RAM with how many MHz
Currently my mobo is running with a 1 GB RAM of 400 Mhz

it doesn't support that speed. but the ram will work. 800 MHz is the double data rate, the actual speed is 400 mhz. When you quad pump 400mhz its = a 1600 FSB. Your mobo supports 1333 FSB out of the box meaning that it's 1333/4 = 333mhz which is DDR2 - 667 ram. That would be the min you would need. Saying that putting in the 800mhz isn't a bad idea, Specially if you can overclock.

I dont know how to over clock 🙁🙁

well the good news is you can overclock. But it's not something you should do without researching a lot of information about the hardware in your computer, CPU, Mobo, GFX, PSU Cooler.

You should also look for a guide if it is something you are interested in. Overclocking can be a challenge, and the key thing is the more information you have about your setup, and guides that will help you, the better off you will be when overclocking.

It can be very rewarding to push extra power out of your system. But as I said, be careful if you attempt it, and read, read, read, and then read some more about it. Knowledge is king for Overclocking.

Well overclocking seems too much of work .. :pt1cable:
As far as the hardware is concerned i have the following things :

Intel Pentium 4 -3.06 GHz
Gigabyte 945GCM-S2l (Socket 775 LGA) Mobo
Zotac 8800 GT 512 MB - DDR3
1 X 1 GB DDR2 400Mhz RAM
1 X 2 GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM
1 TB Seagate Baracuda
PSU - Cooler Master 500W

I know its old but i m upgrading 🙁 i think i need to desperately change my Mobo,Processor & RAM

I dont think i will be overclocking .. i guess so..
