Hi Community, my question here is, I have a 32 GB DDR4 2400 mhz set, I want to upgrade another 32 GB, if I buy the new set with more speed (3000 mhz) can I overclock the 2400mhz set to 3000 and have 64 GB DDR4 3000 mhz? Sorry if is a silly question.
It depends on the IC's used on the older 2400Mhz kit, they will most likely not be able to go that far. On another note, when upgrading rams, it's bad practice to mix and match ram kits(let alone ram frequency's) which is why I'd suggest you either stick with the higher spec'd ram kit or buy a higher capacity(and spec'd) kit(i.e a 64GB kit) and be done with it.
Might I ask what your full system's specs are? Please include the links to both the ram kits you've mentioned above.
