Ram detected but not working properly.

My ram is hyper x fury brand has anyone had this problem before. 8gb 2x4 1866mhz ddr3 ram detected but 4.1 gb hardware reserved on Windows 10 on an asus a88xm-A. I have found a bios update relating to Ram compatability and will try this now. It turns out that I can use all 8gb is ram is placed in slots 3 and 4

Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows? Does all 8GB show up in BIOS?

If it's not showing in BIOS, pull out all the modules and reseat them to make sure they're in correctly.
If you're running a 32-bit OS, that's your problem.

Its a 64 bit os all my ram shows up in bios but windows lists it as hardware reserved.

Check to make sure your BIOS isn't allocating memory to your GPU, especially if it's an onboard GPU.
