Hi,

I have a DDR2 based system. Recently one of my RAM DIMM went bad and so I had to get another one. Now my system configuration has become 2GB DDR2 800 MHz + 2GB DDR2 533 MHz (both Kingston). Can that create a problem in running the PC / can it affect any other sub system of the PC say motherboard in the long run? My system config is:

** Intel Q6600 processor
** Gigabyte G41 Combo motherboard
** 1TB hardisk (Toshiba)
** Windows 7 64 bit
** 500 W SPMS

Any comments /suggestions are welcome

Thanks and Regards,
Arvind Gupta.

Well... I have plugged in the RAM modules inside my PC and dont want to disturb them... is there any command line/utility based technique to fish out the information you need pls?

Thanks in advance,
Arvind Gupta

Did so... all the fields for all the RAM slots were grayed out. Not data being shown (how to insert / attach a jpg with a reply pls -- the picture icon is asking for an URL).

Thanks,

Yes maybe it did the work.... Probably this is the output you were looking for:

Row: 0 - 2 GB PC2-4200 DDR2-SDRAM Kingston
Row: 2 - 2 GB PC2-6400 DDR2-SDRAM Kingston

Looking forward to your advise.

Thanks,

Here they are (hopefully):

For Row: 0 - 2 GB PC2-4200 DDR2-SDRAM Kingston
SPD Revision: 1.2
Module Voltage: SSTL 1.8v

For Row: 2 - 2 GB PC2-6400 DDR2-SDRAM Kingston
SPD Revision: 1.2
Module Voltage: SSTL 1.8v

Can you pls explain these reading on the go pls?

Looking forward to your comments.

Thanks,
Arvind Gupta

OK... if I dont buy Kingston but some other brand with same specs .. I suppose it will do. Isnt it? Or having two RAMs of the same brand (and off course specifications) have its own advantage?
