Hi, I have got 8gb RAM in my PC: 2x 4GB DDR3 Patriot Intel extreme masters 1866mhz on ASRock z77 extreme 4. So I set up a 4gb ramdisk and I put on this some games (Medal of Honor 2010, Natural Selection 2, Dead Space 3, other stuff) and all of them are loading in a blink of an eye and I see improved framerate (about ~5-8 fps when running around, I think that's because textures and models are loading faster).

I've downloaded a CrystalDiskMark to test my RAM disk and then I comparised it with this great article here:

And I've made my own test and here's my result:

I've got a question - why my 4K read/write result is much bigger than theirs, even if they've got like 2133 mhz badass ram and their testing PC is way better?
Did I miss something? Also, what do you guys think about RAM disks, are they 'safe' for RAM's functionality and longevity? I think I will grab another 4gb after I buy a graphic card.

COuld be a lot of things on the results, maybe something running in the background, have seen numerous reviews where they are 'running' say 2133, but it's not set up right, or even running at 2133...as far as being safe, yes, been running them for years, only real pain is if you shut down and when you start up it takes time to load your data or to save it to a 'real' drive
