Hey folks,
I've done a fresh install with my hardware upgrades. New CPU, new GPU, new RAM:
EVGA Z170 Classified K
i7-6700K @ 4.0GHz
EVGA 1080 FTW 8GB
16GB DDR4
1000W PSU
Windows 10 Pro installed on freshly formatted 240GB SSD
Now my memory and disk usage keeps jumping up to 99% randomly. Highest usage in Task Manager is Chrome at 200MB. Resmon shows I'm at 16GB in use with my highest users being MsMpEng.exe (Defender) at 173MB, and Chrome at 200MB. Then, likely the culprit, my non-paged pool is at 15GB.
I've done a full malware scan outside of the OS using Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Malware Bytes, and Panda. I've also done a full hardware scan using QA-Win32, also outside the OS. Everything comes back clean. I've even manually checked the each RAM stick individually with no issues.
Restart temporarily fixes it of course, but not for very long.
Any ideas?
Also, the only answer I could find that matches the situation was another user that had a massive non-paged pool which indicated a driver may have a memory leak and is outdated. I've gone through and updated every system component I could in Devmgmt with no fix.
