Hi All

My computer recently gone off and I believed it was the motherboard.

I tried to use only 3 x 4GB RAM, and it recognised 8GB only. I tried all 3 of these RAM, and they are all showing 12GB on Windows. This makes me thing my RAMs are all ok, but somehow the motherboard doesn't recognise the RAM correctly.

Makes no sense.
If windows says 12gb, then the motherboard must know about 12gb.
Test your ram with memtest86 which does not use windows.
You should see NO errors in a full pass.

3 stick kits are unusual, and I suspect you have a mismatched kit which may not be working properly.

Memory is guaranteed in the form sold. Other combinations you come up with have no guarantee to be compatible together.

Without knowing what memory you have since you have not identified it by part number, it is likely the cause is your choice of memory and not the motherboard.

All of my rams are 4gb 1600mhz ddr3, 2 hyperx and 1 dynet, all tested and working ok with A1, A2 each, but B1,B2 not working, if i use B1 then windows shows 12gb installed but 8 usable , sometimes 12gb bios and then 12 gb usable with windows.
