Hello,

I am so puzzled with this problem, I recently brought a new power supply (Gigabyte Odin 585W) and graphics card (Asus GTX 550 Ti Direct CU)
After installing both parts 100% correctly I get a beep noise and no screen.... I tried a couple of things and once I removed one stick of RAM the PC boots up perfectly. Tried switching the RAM sticks AND the RAM slots but PC still only starts up with ONE stick in the motherboard.

Please help as I am soooo disappointed after spending this amount of money!!

For clarity, if you use only (1) stick and swap in the same DIMM slot the other (1) stick does it still boot?

Otherwise it could be a few things: bad stick, wrong DIMM slots (typically use the same color DIMM slots), or incompatible RAM.

Q - What CPU?
Q - What MOBO?
Q - What set of RAM? ; provide a link to the exact set.

If it was working in the past and now its not, it could be the ram stick died, or the ram slot on the mobo died. It might just be dirty dusty, or "card creek". Try cleaning with compressed air and reinstalling. As Jaquith said make sure that the ram is installed in the correct slots for dual channel.

see if they will both work with out the gpu installed? Do you have onboard video you can test with or another card? Some times when a GPU draws to much it makes the other components on the board act flaky like the ram. Remeber each stick needs to draw power to.

Does your board have an auxilery power connector, is it plugged in?

Have you manually adjusted your ram setting or timimings. Some times you can over clock 1 stick of ram but not 2, or you can tighten the timings on any 2 of the sticks but not all 4.

IMO get a pair of 2x4GB of DDR3-1600 @ 1.50v. However, if you do as I ask, at this point the CPU-z is the better option, I'll post BIOS settings for the maximum supported per the Intel DP67BG MOBO. Also, CPU-z in the 'About' tab offers a TXT option and the supported JEDEC/XMP listing will do just fine.

If you see a JEDEC 800MHz CAS Timings and Voltage per 'SPD' that's the minimum I need.

I previously had a 9600GT with same mobo and ram and it was running perfectly so tested that already and all runs fine with new power supply. As soon as new graphics card is in I get beep error unless one stick of RAM is in.
Havent tried any manual tweaks at all.
Will try get screenshot uploaded as soon as possible

If you didn't set the RAM manually then your DDR3-2400 @ __v (guessing 1.60v~1.65v) is running at DDR3-1333 @ 1.50v.

You've got Ferrari RAM in a Camry MOBO, it wasn't designed to run that slow or at 1.50v. The fundamental problem is as I mentioned above -- incompatible RAM.

Since you're not providing what I need, try a simple setting in the BIOS: DRAM Voltage -> 1.55v~1.60v and see if that gets it 1/2 way running.

The BIOS simply reset more than likely and the once working 'SPD' got changed/misread that no longer worked. Until I see otherwise my assumption is a 'SPD' BIOS issue, and the possible solution is to set the RAM manually in the BIOS. I've had 'SPD' reading aka OC failed issues in the past -- it happens.

Since you MOBO is rated for DDR3-1600 the following is for those settings. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/db-dp67bg

BTW the manual and BIOS manual are for the birds...

BIOS:

CAS 6 often is a problem, try safer settings:

Trying 8-8-8-24-2T

BIOS:
Memory Multiplier -> 16 (or) DDR3-1600 ; 16 * 100MHz = 1600MHz
Memory Voltage -> 1.64v ; if available set to 1.65v per XMP
CL-> 8
tRCD-> 8
tRP-> 8
tRAS-> 24
Command Rate -> 2T

Save and Exit = Yes

Those settings wouldn't boot either :(

Let's go with 'Stock' DDR3-1333 9-9-9-25. The RAM must be in the same colored slots, in your case 'Blue' DIMM slots, failure try the 'Black' DIMM slots.

Trying DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24-2T @1.50v~1.55v

BIOS:
Memory Multiplier -> 13.3 (or) DDR3-1133 ; 13.33 * 100MHz = 1333MHz
Memory Voltage -> Auto is 1.50v or 1.55v if needed
CL-> 9
tRCD-> 9
tRP-> 9
tRAS-> 25
Command Rate -> 2T ; optional

Save and Exit = Yes

edit: If the above fails than perhaps the CMOS is totally corrupt.

If the Date and Time is reset in the BIOS then you know it actually cleared.

Lastly, if this doesn't work then IMO you need to exchange the RAM for either low CAS DDR3-1333 or CAS 8/9 DDR3-1600. This again is the Ferrari RAM in a Camry MOBO.
