Hello everybody i´ve been in this Forum as a lurker for a while but i cant find the answer to my Question..

Inb4 English is not my native language so please keep it as simple as possible :)

So here is my Problem:

i had my 6gb ddr3 1600 mhz Corsair dominators for a while and my Pc ran fine.

i wanted to upgrade and got another kit, so i thought, but turns out it was the Same Ram but with another latency.

Old one had 8-8-8-24
New one has 9-9-9-20

Now i have to problem that my PC starts not regularry only after 7-10 restarts.

Mostly its like that i turn it on and after 2-3 secods it just restarts until it starts normally.

i have an i7 920 which only supports up to 1066 mhz and here are my other questions:

Why did my Pc run normally on 1600Mhz ram all the time?

i´ve read about XMP profiles to enable 1600 mhz ram.

Side Note:

Rampage II extreme has a function called CPU-Level-Up which allows me to overclock my Cpu to an i7 965 if that is needed.

Current BIOS settings are defaut except one Fan.

Hope for help..

make sure with just the old ram in the pc. you have the newest bios file. some mb if the bios is not up to date have issues with some of the newer ram because it missing code. most ram when it marked 1600 or faster can run slower. in the bios set he ram timing up to the slower ram and see if it works. if not see if the new ram is lower voltage then the older ram if it is then you have an issue there.

under the Tech-Specs section its just the Latancy

@Tradesman1 i cant raise the dram voltage for some reason. Only can choose between Ignored and the 1.-- Volt.
