I have Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 16GB Kit (8GBx2) (PC3 12800) DDR3-1600 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin with LED RG BLT2CP8G3D1608DT2TXRG

I plan on/have 3 way or 4 way sli 680s, 256gb 840 pro, OC 3820. I will use for 7680x1440 gaming, and HEAVY multitasking during work. My current system has 8GB of ram, and I am always having to shut programs down because of capping it.

What should I do?

I guess my main question was will 4x4 outperform 2x8 by a noticeable amount? I figure 16gb is where I need to be at, and that is why I put overkill on the 32gb poll answer, and did not put an answer for any less. I was just trying to make a point that I will actually use 16gb, since a lot of people seem to go 16gb when they only need 8gb. My fault for not making myself more clear. I run a lot of self coded diagnostic programs, and 1mil line plus flat file parsing scripts.

Oh really? I thought there was something to do with quad channel and four sticks being better. If 2x8gb 4x4gb then I'm perfect right where I'm at.

Crucial Tacktical Tracers do not work on this board.. I had to return them.
