I just got the board:

I have Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 16GB Kit (8GBx2) (PC3 12800) DDR3-1600 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin with LED RG BLT2CP8G3D1608DT2TXRG

I plan on/have 3 way or 4 way sli 680s, 256gb 840 pro, OC 3820. I will use for 7680x1440 gaming, and HEAVY multitasking during work. My current system has 8GB of ram, and I am always having to shut programs down because of capping it.

What should I do?

I guess my main question was will 4x4 outperform 2x8 by a noticeable amount? I figure 16gb is where I need to be at, and that is why I put overkill on the 32gb poll answer, and did not put an answer for any less. I was just trying to make a point that I will actually use 16gb, since a lot of people seem to go 16gb when they only need 8gb. My fault for not making myself more clear. I run a lot of self coded diagnostic programs, and 1mil line plus flat file parsing scripts.

Oh really? I thought there was something to do with quad channel and four sticks being better. If 2x8gb 4x4gb then I'm perfect right where I'm at. :)

Crucial Tacktical Tracers do not work on this board.. I had to return them.

Running with 16 gB Cosair Vengance - 1.62v 10.10.10.2 @ 985mhz..
