I want to upgrade my ram and I was wondering if this ram would work for my dell optiplex 960.

It should work, but I suggest you get a 8GB (2 x 4GB) RAM kit

I saw that comment. I don't 100% believe it....although I suppose it could be true.

I'd find some that doesn't say that.

I don't think you can use memory sticks over 2GB, manual says max 8GB with 4 slots so that's 4-2GB sticks
