Hi Guys,

Sorry for a little noobish question. Am still trying to learn.

My Motherboard is Intel DG41RQ.( http://ark.intel.com/products/39683/Intel-Desktop-Board-dg41rq ) I want to upgrade my RAM now. So my question is

1)On Intel website, its written as DDR2-800/667. So which memory should i buy? Is it like one module will support one or both can support 800?

2) I currently have a Kingston 2GB. HWiNfO shows that the current clock speed is 400 and also says maximum supported is 533. Am i missing something here?

Which one should i buy then

Memory Upgrade info::
1) Intel DG41RQ motherboard supports both DDR2-800 and 667MHz memory speeds. You can go with 800MHz (PC2-6400) which is faster than 667MHz.

2) Install CPU-Z and Check the SPD TAB. Check if it says PC2-6400 then it is 800MHz memory else it might be PC2-3200 400MHz.

As for the links are concerned, I stick with what I said earlier - 800MHz is the way to go (Transcend DDR2 2 GB PC RAM (JM800QLU-2G)). The reasons are firstly it is faster and secondly, it is cheaper than 667MHz. So why buy a slower and costlier one??? :nan:
