Hi there,

Apologies as I'm sure this question has been asked multple times before but I'm beginning to glaze over with all the specs rolling around.

I am after an upgrade to my gaming PC's ram.

Currently I am running an Asus Z87 Extreme Motherboard with an i5 4670K CPU OC'd to 4.3ghz and an SLI GTX770 4gb.

What ram would be recomended for a build like this to maximise performance without blowing a budget entirely out or proportion.

I was looking at 2x8GB G.SKILL Sniper 2400MHz DDR3. Is this a solid choice? Is there something else I should be looking at?

OC'ing the ram is somthing I would be interested in aswell

Regards

The ASRock Z87 Extreme 4 specs - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme4/?cat=Specifications - say

Dual Channel DDR3 memory technology
- 4 x DDR3 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR3 2933+(OC)/2800(OC)/2400(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity of system memory: 32GB*
- Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) 1.3 / 1.2

At the moment 2x4gb 1866 cl9 1.5V is good for cost/performance. Over that it gets to 1.6V and cl 10 or 11 and prices rise sharply.

So I'd recommend eg http://pcpartpicker.com/part/mushkin-memory-997007f
