RAM for HD

Thre are new Maxtor hard drives that have 8.7ns search time and 2MB RAM (7200rpm and ata/100). I have 9ns Maxtor(7200rpm and ata/100)...i think no RAM...Would newer hard drive be MUCH faster or almost the same?

It's actually called cache. You would definitely have some cache on that hard drive of yours, the question is just how much. Anyway, looking at the two hard drives, there shouldn't be too big of a difference.

My friend own one of those and his savings in games and other stuff is like 30% faster, he has exactly the same system as I do except hard drive and I have 800Mhz (he has 1.2Ghz)i understand this is not the right place to ask, but is ir his 1.2Ghz makes a huge difference ?

I think that a 1.2Ghz Athlon will beat any 800Mhz CPU any day. You will certainly see a biggish difference between the two systems in terms of performance that is down to the CPUs being different.
