Im looking forward to upgrade my intel i3 6100 and B150 motherboard to a Ryzen 5 1600 and B350 Tomahawk motherboard.

I was wondering if my old ram which is the G.skill V 2x8GB F4 2400C15D 16GVR will be compatible with the B350 motherboards with no problems.

Another one of my concerns are the on board lights if they can be turned off via MSI gaming app without turning off the my own LED lights. I grow distasteful of the red lights.

Cheers and a happy new year!

Hi saintequila :)

The B150 uses DDR3 so cannot be used in B350 as it uses DDR4 RAM.
G.skill V 2x8GB F4 2400C15D 16GVR are DDR4 so are compatible with the B350 in that aspect.

It is however better to consult with the MB QVL to check for tested RAM kits.

Here is the B350 MB QVL: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK#support-mem-12
Your G.skill V (2x8GB) F4 2400C15D 16GVR are not listed on the QVL as a tested kit.
That's not to say they would not work and worth giving them a try. Just make sure your Bios is up to date.

I can't help regarding LEDs on the MSI boards so if no help here then contact MSI for better advice.
