RAM for my build driving my head in circles!

Hey guys,

So just trying to make sure I dont screw up buying the wrong RAM. Last time I had issues with putting together a build and had issues with the RAM timing!

So im noticing memory being sold in two different versions with different RAM timings? I want to get either the

Gskill Ripjaws 16gig 1600 (is there any difference getting the 1866mhz?)
Corsair 16gig Vengeance 1600

Im running this setup:
i7 3770k on an AsRock Extreme6 Motherboard with an Asus GTX680OC

This one was suggested: "Corsair XMS3 CMX16GX3M2A1600C11 16GB 2X8GB DDR3-1600 CL11-11-11-30 1.5V Dual Channel Memory Kit" but i have no idea how to read the serial number to ensure they are compatible!

Hi, I would choose from manufacturers configurators:

1600 is OK.

performance or future proofing wise is it worth going for higher than 1600?

i7 3770k memory specs:
Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 32 GB
Memory Types DDR3-1333/1600

Now, if 1866 MHz does worth the extra money in terms of performance? I can't say. Try googling for some benchmarks. Search also for timings vs speed.

faster RAM is not noticable in 90% of real world applications.
EXCEPT WinRar. This program loves faster RAM with tighter timings.
