RAM FOR MY NEW GAMING RIG

you can get any DDR3 kit you wish, your motherboard only supports 8GB of memory so don't get more than that. Fortunately for you RAM is crazy cheap right now you can get a 8GB kit for $40 right now. I've always had good success using brands like: GSkill, Crucial, Corsair, and Patriot.

iv gone to that crusial site you said & they linked me to some ram for my system thx for your help m8 :)

no worries, glad to help

ASUS M4A78LT-M LE - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A78LTM_LE/#specifications
2 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
*AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz

It depends on your CPU, for Phenom IIX4 DDR3-1600 2X4GB, Phenom IIX6 DDR3-1800 2X4GB, for most others, see above, DDR3-1333 2X4GB. Keep in mind you'll need to OC the FSB -> 240MHz or DOCP is available >DDR3-1333.

So...
Q - What CPU?
Q - Are you okay with changing the BIOS?

check this link out, here is a list of 95w amd am3 processors, all would suffice for gaming. I don't know what your budget is so its hard to recommend a specific one. I would suggest looking at the 960T I have heard good things about it and it has the potential to be unlocked to 6cores because it is based of the same chip as the phenom II x6.

Otherwise I would recommend a Phenom II over a Athlon II because of the L3 cache which is helpful in gaming. Also make sure you update your bios to the newest version and check the approved CPU list before purchasing.

also I must apologize, newegg.com listed your motherboard for supporting DDR3, however after looking at the ASUS website it states that your motherboard only supports DDR2 please make sure you get the right one, otherwise your computer will not work.
