Hi all,

Just wanted to know about the quad channels for x99, should I use
(4 X xxgb) kit instead of 2 rams kit to get best performance, and these 4 rams should be installed 2 in left set and 2 right set?

I wanted to use the 4 ram slots set on the right of the mobo .with 4 X 16 . all installed in one side cuz I have one ram fan and water cooled gpu (msi sea hawk) to be placed on rear fan vent. and keep the left rams set empty.

any x99 mobo with that option?

Solution
I would go 4x16gb, puts less stress on the memory controller not having to manage 8 sticks compared to 4 and it also give you room to expand in you ever want to add more ram.
no x99 motherboards come with ether 2 or 4 slots on each side of the cpu. If the board has 2 slots on each side or 4 in total you have to use all 4 slots for quad channel. If it has 4 on each side or 8 slots in total, 4 slots will be colored lets say blue and the other set will be black. In order to run quad channel you would have to put 4 sticks in ether the blue slots or black. If you only use the right side slots, 2 blue and 2 black you would only run in dual dual channel not quad.

Rather say best RAM I think you should focus on best speed of CPU that is, 2400Mhz is a good speed for CPU overclocking as some CPUs will have problems running a higher CPU OC + Memory OC at the same time.
