Ram for xp

I am trying to install more ram on a windows XP computer. I’ve installed 14 gig ram card and remove the old ram and then powered the computer on and it gives me a beeping noise and won’t power on. I remove the new RAM and put the old ram back in and the computer power is on just fine. How do I install the new RAM and get my computer to turn on?

Make sure you have the RAM seated correctly. If you do and the computer wont turn on either the RAM is incompatible or its faulty.

What are the hardware specs of the PC? CPU, Mobo etc

14GB ram on windows XP pc? Is windows 32bit?
Are you sure your pc hardware supports that amount of ram?
Are you sure it's correct ram? Server ram usually can't be used on desktop systems.

Please list full specs of your pc and ram model names.

Do you remember windows xp can only reads 4gb ram (3.25 gb)
