I recently purchased 1600mhz 8gb ram from Crucial on a sale, and my Macbook pro's motherboard only supports 1333mhz and I assumed it would just slow down the ram to match the maximum speed but I WAS WRONG, it gives 3 quick beeps, which is a memory issue, but I can install the old 2gb 1333mhz stick with a 4gb 1600mhz stick and run 6gbs 1333mhz. So im asking if theres a way to use all 8gbs without using a 1333mhz stick?

I tried both sticks separately and they both worked fine

Interesting. AFAIK, 2009 MBPs support 1066 MHz RAM (I have such RAM in my mid-2010 MBP). It's not clear whether your new RAM can work at this freq or why couldn't mobo downgrade the RAM as it does with modules from different sets. What's the precise model of your laptop?
