[SOLVED] RAM frequency problem on Asrock B450 Steel Legend ?

Hello, I have bought a desktop with a mother b450 steel legend and a ryzen 5 3500x, 2 memory modules AX4U320038G16-BR80 put in their respective slots. The BIOS version it brought is 3.40, the problem I have is that the RAM always takes it at 2666 MHz and not at 3200 MHz, as the label indicates. The XMP profiles it has are for 3000mhz (the latency is the same as on the memory label) and the other XMP profile is for 3200mhz but the latency is different. What I do? Do I update the BIOS to the latest version? Or how can I safely configure the memory to run at 3200mhz? Thanks and sorry for the writing but I use the google translator.

Hey there,

So, yes, it's a good idea to update the bios. The new bios (AGESA) might improve compatibility with the new ram.

Once you've done that, then try the ram again. If you still have issues, it's always possible to set the ram manually. You can do this in the bios. The sticker on the ram, will have the timings/voltage/and speed. Sometimes setting it manually will make them work.

You can also test the ram outside of windows with memtest86+. Run memtest86+ for 4 passes, and if you have errors, then the ram is faulty and you can RMA them under warranty and get replacements.
