My mobo (MSI B350m Gaming Pro) Supports ram with frequencies of 2400MHz ram (base clock) and it supports up to an oc of 3200MHz+ but the ram I plan on getting has a base clock of 2666MHz. I feel like it would work fine because it can support 2666MHz but only with overclock so I'm just checking it over to make sure it will work and be stable.

Here I will send you the think it says it's at 2666MHz WITHOUT OVERCLOCK (XMP), BASE FREQUENCY is 2666MHz not XMP Frequency: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232722&ignorebbr=1&source=region&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Memory+%28Desktop+Memory%29-_-N82E16820232722&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4aXiBRCRARIsAMBZGz_k7b3x0ElofY4IRspTgh6OvZKd_erGxsfQpTUPKudWB2W83LWNN5waAreFEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

"2666 Speed out of the box
Can be overclocked to 3000mhz just buy selecting 3000mhz and up the voltage to 1.35 the recommeneded voltage for the 3000mhz kit available if you don't want to overclock
3000mhz noticeably faster than 2666 via overclock..." from the product page above

Ok your recommended speed for ram for that cpu is 2993mhz. So when you plug in your ram, it may come up as 2666mhz out of the gate, but it may not. IF it does not then you have to use AMD'S equivalent to xmp, DOCP to set it 2666 or since it may overclock higher IF YOU WANT to 2933. So short answer is yes your ram will work.

So I'm planning on getting 16GB so would you recommend 2 sticks of the ram I listed above or could you recommend me a 8GB single stick that won't hit my performance?

Preferred Frequency is 2400MHz because I can easily overclock the ram if needed
