Question RAM from different brand?

i have an patriot viper 4 1x8GB 2400 CL15 overclocked to 2800. from 2016 back then i didnt know single channel will limit the bandwidth now i want upgrade it to dual channel 16GB but i cant find the exact model from patriot. but there is a TEAMGROUP with the same frequency and timing is that okay if i use that along with my current ram?

There's no guarantee they will work together, that is why RAM is sold in kits these days.

Weigh the cost of a matched set of the timings and capacity you want, against the cost of the single piece that you're considering; and factor-in the probability that that single piece won't work, along with the hassle of returning it and having to buy a matched set afterwards.

i dont have the option to get 2x8 kit. they are almost around 200 dollars in my country which is insane but a single kit is around 40 dollars which is good and makes sense
