RAM Hardware Reserves

hello,

i upgraded my PC :
MB: Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
CPU: i5 2500
Ram: ddr3 adata 8gb

i looked uop in my task manager and noticed that 6.9gb is reserved for hardware and oly 2gb is ready to use. is there any option to change that?

Where in the task manager is this said? I don't remember the task manager reporting reserved memory for hardware.

Must have went to task manager > performance tab and clicked the Resource monitor tab then went to the memory tab.

You can try pressing windows button (or click start button)
- type: msconfig
- Go to "Boot" tab
- Click advance tab check the "maximum memory" box then OK
- Then reboot

If that doesn't work then check in your BIOS to see if you have "memory remapping" enabled.
