I have a BFG680i SLi motherboard with a 3.0GHz Pentium 4 531 LGA775 computer I am looking at the crucial website to search for what they say is compatble with my motherboard but I want to know what is compatible with my system the PC2-6400, PC2-5300 or PC2-8500 if more info is needed about the parts I plan to put into my system let me know

Solution
Your motherboard uses 240-pin DDR2 800Mhz RAM. As does your CPU.

I would recommend you consider upgrading your CPU too. I'd take it you want to be as cheap as possible on these upgrades since you are trying to keep life in that old system, but there are cheap CPU upgrades available still. You might be able to use much faster core2duo CPUs in that motherboard, I cannot find for sure. I know you certainly should be able to use Pentium D which at least will give you a dual core CPU, and you can buy them cheap. I bought a Pentium D 945 for about $6 on ebay a few months back, which would do a fair bit of good for your system if you can.
