RAM Help needed!

Hello, to anyone who is reading this I thank you in advance for any and all help. So my issue is with my RAM or possibly my motherboard.. not sure. I have two identical DDR2 RAM sticks both 2 GB. I have installed both and my computer boots fine, but yet my PC is only saying I have 2GB installed 1.99 GB usable, which I know isn't much. I have 4 possible RAM slots on my motherboard and yes I have tried using different slots, but yet no success. If anyone has any ideas on what my issue is please let me know!

Have you tried each one individually. And what Motherboard do you have? Make and model please.
