RAM help please

Can I use 1 8Gb module in a intel dq57tm? If so is there any requirements? I was recommended this stick and was told it would clock down to 1333... G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL

Best is to go with 1333MHz stick itself instead of going with a faster speed that may under-clock to lower speed. Maximum is 16GB (4x4GB).

That still doesnt really answer the question. I just want to know if I can put 8gigs in one slot

I just read through most of the memory related stuff and still it is not clear. It says max 16 but still does not say whether or not I can use 8gb in one single dimm slot

16 / 4 slots = max per slot
