So I have a new T3500 Dell workstation with the Intel X58 chipset. I am looking to upgrade to 12GB (4GBx3). (I have the 64 bit OS)
I have checked the crucial site to verify I am getting the proper RAM type...
But my question centers around the RAM speed. Crucial says my PC will accept these 3:
DDR3 PC3-10600
DDR3 PC3-8500
DDR3 PC3-12800
I am not a PC guru...but I am guessing the numbers at the end are the speed, and the higher the number, the faster it is.
So would there be any reason I would not want to just go for the "12800"?
It is only $5 more than the "10600" model in the G.SKILL Ripjaws Series I am looking at...
Thanks for any insight...
