Ram in second slot won’t post

My pc will start up normally but as soon as I add any stick of ram to the second ram slot my pc will stay at a black screen and won’t even post, I’ve tried to switch the ram around and all ram sticks I have do work. The ram is compatible and all are the same speed etc. please help I’ve even tried just booting with one stick in the second slot and it does the same thing.

I have an acer aspire xc704g it does have 2 slot for ram, I have 2 4gb sticks of ram, and the system supports up to 8gb
