ram installation problems

hello forum!

bought new ram.. kingston KVR13n9s6/2 however when i plug it in my monitor stays black and nothing happens, my other ram is acr256x64d3u1333c9 my desctop is a acer extensa e470 with ssd and geforce video for the rest its factory default. i have tried any combination of ports for the ram but it doesnt change. old ram still works perfectly though. the only difference between the cards is that the old one is rank two and new one is rank 1

if someone could help me it would be apreciated
