Ram installed 4 gb usable 3.25 gb

Hello,
i have corsair xms 2x2 4GB 9-9-9-24 1333mhz with phenom 965 and biostar 890gxe..........for about 15days after aasembling the pc running windows7 x64 my pc showed ram installed 4gb 3.25 usable ..........plz help with this error....all settings on default + memory remaping enabled
+ latest bios updated ....not able to understand anything

Sounds like you are using a 32-bit version of Win 7. 32-bit operating systems can only see 3.25GB of memory. The rest is there, just not directly accessible by the operating system.

This is normal and nothing to worry about. The only way to access all of the memory is to move to the 64-bit version of Windows 7 (or any other OS for that matter).

If it really, really is a 64-bit version of Windows then your boot settings may be limiting the amount of RAM that Windows will use. Try this:

- Click "Start", type "MSConfig", press <ENTER>
- Click the "Boot" tab
- Click the "Advanced Options..." button
- Make sure the "Maximum Memory" checkbox is UNchecked.
- Reboot

But if you're running a 32-bit version of Windows then the other posters are correct and these instructions won't help.
