My board is an Asus M2A-VM HDMI and the RAM I bought to install was http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ES3L6U/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My board only supports up to 8 gigs. I took out the old 1x2gb RAM cards and moved them 2 slots over, then put the new RAM in. I turned it on and it went "beeeep beep beep" every 3 or 4 seconds, so I shut it off and took out the old 1x2gb RAM cards and then turned it on again. It is just sitting there iddling now. Is something wrong? It isn't beeping it's like it's on but the screen isn't getting any information. Did I do it right? Is there something wrong? Did I buy the wrong RAM?

It's best not to mix ram. Only identical DIMMs should be used together.

Leave the old ram out and put the new ram into the dual-channel slots and you should be good to go.

The slots the old ram were in are most likely the dual-channel slots, if you're not sure you can check your motherboard's manual.

But it supports DDR2 667 240pin, it specifies that on Asus' website.

There are three types of ram modules un-buffered
And EEC ram buffered, and un-buffered

The board states it will except standard ram modules un-buffered.

Unless the board has support for EEC Extra Error correction memory sticks buffered, and un- buffered.
it will simply not work.

The memory sticks you bought are EEC modules.
And why they do not work in the board, but they look physically the same to the eye.

The board cannot read that type of memory and why it beeps a long and two short beeps.
You need to return the two memory sticks and ask for non EEC memory kit.
